Less commonly seen peacock design painted with the classic three colour scheme unglaze polychrome developed during the China republic period. Peacock is highly respected in Chinese culture as it is regarded as a great honour to be given permission by the emperor to attach a peacock feather to the finial of a Qing court official’s hat.
